I don’t know about you but I’ve spent a lot of $$$ buying skincare products!! AHH!
Believe it or not, most skincare products are made using unnecessary chemicals. That being said, why not create our own skincare products using ONLY natural ingredients we can find in our pantry or fridge.
Here are my top 5 DIY skin recipes that are easy and won’t break the bank:
Vitamin E has antioxidant properties that help fight signs of aging, as well as protect the skin from any sun damage. Evening Primrose Oil helps diminish fine lines and inflammation that can be found under the eyes. Together these two ingredients create an inexpensive and effective eye cream, great for anyone!
2. Bentonite Clay and Apple Cider Vinegar Mask
Women around the world have used clay masks for centuries. Even Cleopatra loved to use them! The key is to combine bentonite clay and apple cider vinegar to create a mask the not only removes all the skin’s impurities but also helps with acne. Take an equal part of bentonite clay and apple cider vinegar and mix it together until you get a paste. Apply it to the skin and let the clay harden. I’m going to warn you, this mask is going to tighten a lot! It might even hurt, but the tightening helps remove all the gunk from your pores, as well as help the blood circulate in your skin.
3. Lemon Juice and Witch Hazel Brightening Toner
If you’ve never used a toner for your skin, what are you waiting for?? The answer to many of our skin’s problems can be solved with just one product. Toners help shrink those ugly pores that look like moon craters on our skin. Ugh I swear men don’t have these problems!! A toner also balances the pH levels of the skin that can be disturbed when using cleansers. Instead of buying a toner at a drugstore, use water, lemon juice and witch hazel to create you very own brightening toner. You can find the exact recipe here.
4. Honey and Sugar Facial Scrub
As we all know, exfoliating is very important to remove all the dead skin cells that build up on the skin. A super easy and natural exfoliator is combining honey and sugar. Honey has antibacterial properties that are beneficial for the skin, especially those with acne and oiliness. The sugar itself acts like a gentle scrub. Combine the two ingredients and gently massage onto the skin in circular motions. Once you are done, rinse the scrub off and your left with soft glowing skin.
Next time you see a bee, thank them for this wonderful delicacy. On second thought just run away!!
5. Eggs Mask
There is nothing better than achieving soft glowing skin. I mean who doesn’t want that J.Lo glow?! Well the answer is an egg. Egg yolks, banana, and olive oil are the perfect ingredients to create a moisturizing mask. Even if your skin is oily, it still needs that nourishment. Trust me it sounds pretty gross to smother a raw egg on your skin, but the results are pretty astonishing.
