Hello darlings!

Happly Monday and hope you all had a great weekend! Just wanted to share a little quick life update with you all. Just a little gossip between friends :)

Let's just say losing weight is hard. Like extremely difficult. I have been on the Weight Watchers weight lose program for about 2 months now and it's really working. I've lost ten pounds and I'm feeling great. I have four more pounds to go until I reach my goal weight. After I reach my goal, I'm going to really start toning up. My problem area has always been my stomach. It's a family trait and makes us all look like we are 5 months pregnant or something. My belly just puffs out! Ugh! So four more pounds to go and I start doing what I hate most...working about my abs. I'm working out 5 to 6 days per week and taking barre, Zumba, twerking, and pole dancing classes. I think I'm going to add Soul Cycle to the mix but it's so expensive! We'll see about that one. 

The main reason why I personally think weight loss is hard is because I had very unrealistic expectations. I have to realize that I'm 32 now and not 22 anymore. Back in my 20s, I used to drop 10 pounds like nothing. Like seriously it felt like it took me a few days. Hahaha. This time I said to myself, "you're active, eating mostly healthy, and always been fit. You got this..." Well wrong! Your body changes and things aren't as easy as they used to be. I legit thought I would just give up wine and I would lose the ten pounds in a month. Ummm I wish. So I'm continuing on my weight loss journey and I'm feeling great. I have soooo much respect for people who lost 100 pounds! I wouldn't be able to do it. 

My acne. Ugh. This is the little engine that could. It got really bad for awhile but it has really improved since I started a new skincare routine. I'm going to write a post soon about every single product I've been using. It's a lot of work but consistency is key. I'm not afraid of a little work especially if it means my acne is gone! 

I went to the doctor last week about my migraines and it turns out I was severely dehydrated. I'm losing weight, working out 6x per week, and it's sooooo hot here in NYC. I need to be drinking at least 64 oz of water per day and let's just say I was barely getting 8....yes I know it was stupidity on my part but it's really hard! First of all, I hate water so it's naturally a struggle for me. And I'm always so busy at work that I lose track of time and totally forget to drink. Now I have an alarm on my Apple Watch and it reminds me 6x per day...drink water. I'm in the bathroom peeing every 5 minutes but the dehydration is getting better and it's also helping my acne. I'm killing two birds with one stone. 

Back in March, I went to the doctor for my annual physical and my vitamin D levels were extremely low. I was also retested last week and I'm back to normal! At first I thought the imbalance was causing my acne but not the case. I'm so happy! I'm looking for a good soapy multivitamin so if you have any recommendations, please feel free to share. I'm also not taking anymore hair growing pills so let's see if I notice any changes. 

I'm so excited to be expanding my blog and featuring some new series. One of my new features will include events and inspiration for your own future parties! I've mentioned before that I was a wedding blogger for many years. Even though I don't want to only write about weddings, I still miss the creativity, inspiration, and beauty life events bring, including weddings. I'll be sharing more stories about engagements, baby showers, bridal showers, or just a good dinner party with friends! I'll also be collaborating with more companies which I'm super excited for. We need to help lift one another and learn from others. I think this will be a great addition to the blog. 

In the future, I definitely want to rebrand the blog. I still don't think the layout and design truly represents me but it'll do for now. I want to build more and develop my identity before I spend serious money.

  2. I'm on the opposite spectrum of you. I've been underweight all my life and now I'm making a concious effort to gain weight in a healthy way. Even though we are on opposite spectrums, I completely understand how hard it can be to consistently workout and eat the right things.
