YSL Baby Doll Kiss & Blush Review
I don't know what it is about YSL lipsticks that just make me squeal with happiness. Maybe it's their luxe packaging with bits of gold, or stunning counters, or the vibrant colors but whatever it is…I'm just obsessed. Btw, how cute is the name? Kiss & blush is exactly what you'll be doing in a high fashion way.
Earlier this year, I gushed about YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick and now I'm obsessing over their Baby Doll Kiss & Blush lipstick. I picked up this gem at an outlet because it was 50% off! What a steal! How can you go wrong with a $20 price tag! Plus it's a great way to try a new product. The color I purchased is #10 Nude Insolent. Let's start from the beginning…
Truly, YSL does an amazing job with their packaging. They didn't skip on luxury and didn't go cheap with any details of this product. From the heavy gold handle, to the thick plastic base, to the wonderful applicator, I swear you can drop this baby on pavement and it won't break. I have not a bad thing to say about the design, feel, or practicality of the lipstick. Even if I would have paid full price for it, the $40 price tag would have been worth it. I shouldn't actually be calling it a solely a lipstick because it does serve dual purposes as it can be used on both the lips and cheeks. I love this because as a woman always on the go…I have one less product to carry! Also, when you're in a taxi and in a rush, you don't have to dig in your bag looking for another product! Wooo hoo!
Let's chat about the formula: it's super light and airy! It's almost as if the creators used a hand mixer and made this lipstick/blush into a mousse and air-whipped product. Just imagine applying whip cream to your lips. The texture feels like a little piece of heaven. When I do apply it to my lips, it is very matte on me but not in a drying way. It's so weird because my lips are matte and moisturized at the same time! I have used other matte lipsticks before and ended up hating it because you can see every detail of my dry cracked lips! Overall, it's very creamy, lightweight, long lasting, super pigmented, and very natural looking. (I did buy an everyday nude shade) You can still use a goody that's super pigmented and offers a lot a color and still look natural at the same time.
Honestly, I haven't used this on my cheeks yet so usually my makeup lasts all day but it is super creamy and blendable so I'm pretty sure it'll look beautiful on the cheeks!
The applicator is just perfect. At the end of the wand, the tip is small and perfectly applies the product on your lips without having a use a brush. It's quick, easy, and you can keep moving.
Have you tried any of YSL's beauty products?
