Guinot Fast Mattifying Concealer Review

Guinot Fast Mattifying Concealer Review

Ugh the joys of being an acne sufferer. To put it mildly, it effing sucks and I'm so tired of it. Like seriously, I'm 32 and I shouldn't have to be dealing with this anymore! Ugh. Anyway, I tried this new product recommended to me by an esthetician and of course I was skeptical at first but after trying it just once, I noticed a huge difference. I've never heard of this product or brand so I thought I would share with you! (PS- I am still visiting the dermatologist for the first time next week because I really need to put a stop to this once and for all!)

My acne turns up whenever and wherever it wants. It doesn't stay in one place or even one area. I always have a blemish, the question is...how many do I have at once? Besides the fact that everyone wants clear good looking skin, I also want to use less makeup if my skin starts behaving. I wouldn't have to use layer after layer of concealer and foundation. But it is what it is (for now) and I have found a product that both heals and conceals! Yes! It does both together and I am super in love and excited about it.

Guinot Fast Mattifying Concealer Review

According to the packaging, this concealer will help...
  • Purify and control excess oil
  • Cover up blemishes and make the complexion even
  • Heal the skin for improved clarity
  • Soothe oversensitivity

So this is my personal night routine:
  • Use my Avon wipes to initially clean my face
  • Clean my face with a good cleanser
  • Use a facial scrub
  • Apply toner to clean up any residue
  • Use my eye makeup remover because sometimes it refuses to go away!
  • Apply my moisturizer and eye cream
  • Apply this concealer to my problematic areas. I either use a concealer brush or my clean fingers.
  • Let it dry before you hit the sack!

If I am using this during the day:
  • Again, I clean my face with my favorite cleanser
  • Wipe my face down with my toner
  • Apply moisturizer
  • Apply this concealer! Let it dry before you move on to the next step.
  • Then I start applying my makeup like normal. I use my primer, apply my foundation, etc. Before I set my face, I apply a bit more of this to my chin area (where I get the most acne!) I apply using my fingers, brush, and beauty blender. Since this gem has color to it, I don't mind stacking it on top of my foundation

Guinot Fast Mattifying Concealer Review

Yesterday at work, I actually got stopped 3x by people saying how beautiful my skin looks. It makes me sooo happy! This product works extremely quickly as well. Just by wearing it at night while sleeping, you'll wake up with a mild or extinct pimple. I was so shocked. Not that I go around not judging people but some times people do like to try to see you bullshit. This is totally NOT bs!! Acne suffers need to run out and buy this or order online!

Lastly, I use this as a 'mild' concealer if that makes sense, I wouldn't throw away my other concealers or not apply it. The Guinot Fast Mattifying Concealer will help the situation and act as an aid but I wouldn't say it's like a  traditional concealer so definitely layer up with your fave concealer. I'll be sticking with my Estee Lauder Double Wear and Bobbi Brown foundations stick for additional coverage in particular areas.

What do you use to stop acne in its tracks?

Paul Mitchell Super-Charged Moisturizer Review

10:56:00 PM

Hello!

It’s Jordan again. I just want to throw a side note in here: I am currently obsessing over Jane the Virgin on Netflix & who could not be in love with Michael. He is literally perfect, right? I mean he is the sweetest guy ever & those eyes, come on!! But anyways to the point here, I just wanted to tell all of you about my experience with this new hair product I tried, Paul Mitchell’s Super-Charged Moisturizer

Paul Mitchell Super-Charged Moisturizer: Honestly, I have not used many hair products that I can actually see a difference in my hair after using.  I rarely buy expensive hair products because nothing ever changes the outcome of how my hair looks on a day to day basis. Well, I was in a splurge mood at Ulta a few weeks ago, so I went ahead & bought this small bottle of hair moisturizer. It is just a once a week moisturizer, they had a daily one, but I knew I would struggle with taking the time to use it weekly, ha. BUT… after the results, I may go back & purchase the daily moisturizer!

My natural hair: So my hair is like this big dysfunctional wave with some frizz added on top, it is so fun…*eyeroll* I can never not take a straightener or curling wand through it in the morning, I even put a straightener through it if I am just throwing it up (like most days). I have tried SO many products to try to avoid using so much heat, but no luck.

After the product: I used the Paul Mitchell Super-Charged Moisturizer in the shower one night & I always let my hair air dry while I sleep. The next morning, my hair was so amazing! I literally did nothing to my hair & it was so great (pictured below). I didn’t even brush it (to be honest, I don’t even own a brush because I haven’t brushed my hair in like, ever). Is that weird? I don’t know, my friends think its weird. But anyways, I loved the way the product made my hair so perfectly wavy and not frizzy or dry looking at all! Plus it was wonderful not having to spend any time on my hair in the morning. It was hard not to use the moisturizer again every day, like I mentioned before, I am probably going to have to buy the daily moisturizer soon & hopefully get the same results. I have used the moisturizer three times now total & I am starting to see an overall decrease in the frizz instead of just the day after using. Especially since the last time I used it (3 days ago) my hair has been SO much easier to maintain every morning, it is wonderful!

Untouched hair morning after using Paul Mitchell Super-Charged Moisturizer for the first time (don't hate on the ugly cement wall; it had the best lighting there, okay)

Basically: The Paul Mitchell Super-Charged Moisturizer is bomb & you should try it!

#NSale Beauty Finds

Hello loves!!

Another Nordstrom update on the blog today! This update is my favorite kind...beauty!! I totally snagged some awesome deals during this year's #NSale.

Here's what I got...

Sigma Express Brush Cleaner with Brush: This has to be my all time favorite find because it's a combo of two of my favorite things!! (Read reviews here and here) Months ago I purchased the Sigma Brush Cleaning Glove and now I'm back for the express mat! I clean my brushes every single Sunday because it's especially helpful when I'm trying to control my acne. The F80 is also a must have foundation brush because it leaves your makeup leaving airbrushed and even. The two of these together was $34 and regular price is $49. Seriously, run and get this!!

YSL Rebel Nudes Lipstick Set: I love YSL lipstick. If you've been following me on Instagram, you know that this lipstick has taken over my life. I purchased this set because I want something nice and easy for Fall. I love my nudes so this was the perfect choice. In this set, I get the full-size Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick Lipstick in Beige Blouse, full-size Rouge Pur Couture Vernis a Levres Glossy Stain in Corail Aquatique, full-size Plump Up Glossy Stain in 200 Plump Up, and cosmetic bag! Love, love, and love. Regular price is $108 and I purchased for $72.

Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation: I have to write a review about this amazing foundation. I purchased it about two months ago and I'm already quickly moving towards my second bottle. I always like having a backup foundation bottle in my drawer because you never know but also, Estée Lauder is offering a choice between 3 awesome 7 piece gift sets. It's like $145 value plus a surprise 5 piece sample bag. I'm totally all over this. I'll let you know what the samples are when I get it.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Foam: I bought the mini version of this cleanser because I'm planning on traveling with it. I use this to both clean my face at night and also to clean my brushes. I needed to order this though with my Double Wear Foundation in order to qualify for the 7 piece free gift.

Philsophy 'Amazing Grace' Shampoo, Shower Gel, and Bubble Bath Duo: I have been using the Amazing Grace scent for over 10 years. Another review I really need to write! It's so light and clean smelling. I've worn the perfume, used the lotion, shower gel, and bath scrub. I can't get enough! This set is such an amazing price and can be used for multiple purposes. I even use the shower gel as shaving cream! This is another purchase for me to store away but I am saving money because I guarantee that when I need it months from now, they won't be on sale.

My #NSale Fashion Finds

Happy Monday loves!! This week I am going to be focused a lot on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. This sale has truly taken over my life since July 14th. My Mom and I have been shopping non-stop online and in-stores on weekends. If you follow me on Snapchat (gossipdarling), you'll notice how much time I've been spending in stores. hahahaha. It's so addictive and I have been finding soooo many amazing things at such an awesome price.

Here are just a few of my fashion finds...

1. Pleione High/Low V-Neck Mixed Media Top: My style is all about ease and comfort. I don't like any of my tops to be super tight or make me feel restricted. This is going to be perfect for late summer/early fall and I have def use in the spring. It's fun and it's going to be easy to pair with a pair of jeans and sandals or flats.

2. Lush Deep V-Neck Tee: I am 100% a t-shirt and jeans kinda girl. Nothing makes me happier than a good tee!! (And honestly you can never have too many!) I bought this in the Tandoori Spice color and I can't wait to use it! It's the perfect Fall color and I'll blend in with the leaves!

3. Topshop 'Rex' Camo Shirt Jacket: Camo is one of my fave prints and I am obsessed with it. My iPhone case is camo! I also think that it's a classic. I have pics of my Mom in high school wearing camp print. This light jacket will be perfect when the weather starts to cool at night or when I leave my apartment early and there's still a breeze in the air. It's also going to be easy to pair with a white t-shirt and my fave jeans.

#NSale Shopping Bag

4. Halogen Short Sleeve Shirttail Tee: Can you tell yet that I love t-shirts? hahaha. I seriously can't get enough. I love that this tee is long enough to cover my tush. It's going to be perfect because sometimes the low-rise jeans can show all. This gem will help me hide my secrets!

5. Socialite Strappy Rib Knit Tank: This can be used all year around. I am going to start wearing alone during these hot summer days then I'll pair up with a cardigan for Fall/Winter/Spring. I love the fun details in the front and the back. Maybe I should order this in more than one color...

6. Lush Strappy Long Sleeve Woven Blouse: I bought this top in black and my Mom bought it in red. It's going to be the perfect blouse for Fall and it's so easy to wear. I will def be wearing it with a pair of ripped jeans and either my Chanel ballet flats or one of my ankle biker boots. I like to mix things up!

7. UGG 'Gradie' High Top Sneakers: I lovvvveee my sneaks. They are soooo easy to wear on the Manhattan pavement. Also, UGGs are super warm and comfortable during long New York Winters. I have so many pairs of their boots, slippers, and even flip flops! I am a huge fan of the brand. I never knew that they made high tops! This is my favorite kind of sneaker. I am going to be warm and looking cute.

UGG 'Gradie' High Top Sneakers Try On

I also picked up this cardigan in an olive green and these earrings in the blue!

Have you been shopping the #NSale? What have you picked up?

Ipsy July Glam Bag

Ipsy July Glam Bag Review

Hello loves!!

Hope you are having a great week so far! 90% of my time has been dedicated to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I can wait to show you all what I got! Sooo many good things!!

I have to give a shout out to this month's Ispy July Glam Bag. I have a few different beauty subscriptions but hands down Ipsy is my favorite and this month's bag is the best yet! I am sooo good about reviewing each product every month and it has really made such a difference because every month, I now get all the products I really love and actually have an interest in buying.

My five monthly samples come in an adorable fun bag every month and July's bag is all about having a fun summer! It's all about the laid-back summer vibes!! I love it. Wanna know what I got?

1. Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in No Filter: So this is my 2nd time receiving something from this brand and so far both products have been amazing. They are all about being cruelty free and vegan! (Read about this highlighter I'm loving here.) This nail color is such a beautiful shade of a subtle violet and looks very elegant and classic. I can definitely see myself using this color a lot because it's so neutral. I admit, I went to my usual nail salon for a manicure and the girl loved the texture and formula of the polish but she didn't like the brush. This weekend, I am going to apply the polish myself so I'll let you know what I think about the brush.

2. Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer: Omg this product has been sooo hyped up. Like legit I have seen it on every beauty blog I follow. Of course when I saw it in this month's Glam Bag, I was super excited and I wanna know what the hype is all about. So I have used it for about a week now....I'm a huge fan of the coconut scent since coconut water is part of this formula, the texture, and the final finish. It leaves my skin feeling soft, hydrated, and a bit dewy. I would totally purchase it for the $32 price tag but I also picked up a new NYX primer for $6.99 and it's creating the same results. I think $6.99 better than $32. I have to use both products more but so far, I'm 100% NYX.

3. Palmetto Derma Rejuvenating Antioxidant Mask: I love clay masks and since my skin is protesting summer, I need all the backup I can find. My acne has been full force and it's not fun for me. This mask is full of antioxidants and helps reverse daily skin damage. I know my skin takes a beating die to my city environment. I use this mask every other day and it's helping to moisturize, smooth, and brighten my skin. I'm all for this gem.

Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in No Filter Review

4. VASANTI COSMETICS Professional Eyeshadow Brushes: I am loving this brush!! I am using it to apply my Avon eyeshadow primer since I was using my fingers before. The bristles on this brush are super tight and tapered. You can use it wet or dry and it also double as a concealer brush. I love when I can use one brush for two purposes...especially when I am traveling. If you want to create a super pigmented eyeshadow look, I would spray the brush with MAC's Prep and Prime and then pack on the eyeshadow. The final result will be stunning. This brush is a yaaaaassss for me! I also love the long handle which make it easier to hold on to since I have long fingers. I am just loving everything about this.

5. skyn ICELAND The ANTIDOTE Cooling Daily Lotion: Since my skin has been giving me so many problems, I want to use only the best products on my skin. According to the site, this gems helps....
  • Icelandic kelp hydrates, detoxifies, soothes and calms inflammation.
  • Cooling sensation reduces redness for a calm, glowing complexion.
  • Cloudberry and cranberry seed (the super fruits of the Arctic) boost hydration.
With my acne, I definitely need something to calm and soothe the inflammation on my face. Reducing the stress my skin is feeling is key and so far this is helping!

This month's Glam Bag has been my absolute favorite so far. I am digging every sample.

What new products are you using this month? Do you subscribe to any monthly beauty boxes?

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara

1:00:00 AM

Hi everyone! I have the privilege to be a guest blogger on The Gossip Darling today, how exciting! I'm Jordan & I love, love this blog! I look forward to writing posts on here every now & then! I usually write about beauty products, health & fitness workouts, so you may see me pop up on here occasionally!

Anyways, I hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday!! I will be heading to the pool all day! Lets be honest though, I will probably do some shopping later & head to Ulta (because, makeup is life). I seriously have a whole different makeup routine in the summer than in the winter & one thing I needed this summer was a really amazing mascara (found it!).

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara Review
Tarte Mascara at Ulta. I purchased the Volumize & Curl (top) one.
I know Melissa has bragged about Tarte products before on The Gossip Darling & I am going to continue the praise. I purchased the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara about a month ago from Ulta & I am hooked!

First off: The packaging is fabulous. I love the purple leather with gold, makes you feel like you are really splurging. And the best part is that it is super affordable, only $21 at Ulta!

Now lets get to it: I purchased the black mascara because I am all about the dark bold lashes. I decided to choose the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara because I have purchased Tarte before so I trusted the brand (& because the packaging was pretty!). I have crazy long eyelashes, people always think I have fake lashes on (the idea of fake lashes kind of freak me out, honestly), & these insanely long lashes are a blessing and a CURSE. Mascara can make my eyelashes look super clumped together, or it can leave black marks on my eyelids where my lashes curl up, or the mascara can make my top and bottom lashes stick together (most annoying thing ever!). Tarte mascara has been amazing this summer. It makes my lashes look super fabulous! The mascara feels light & stays on all day perfectly. I even go to to the gym with it on at the end of the day & it stays on great without smudging!

My friend ran out of mascara & I made her try this Tarte mascara. At the end of the day, she LOVED it & we went to Ulta the next day! Her lashes are not as long as mine & she has super sensitive skin, but this product works great for both of us!!

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara Review

Basically, if you want a light mascara that makes your eyelashes bold & fabulous all day, then I highly recommend the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara!!

Has anyone tried the Tarte Lights, Camera, Splashes Waterproof Mascara? I may need to buy it soon!

Relaxation + Chrissy’s Socks

9:24:00 AM

Chrissy’s Socks Review

I love relaxing and lounging around after a long stressful week but for some reason, I'm often bad at it. I feel a little guilty for watching tv on my sofa and watching a series of Lifetime movies. But as I get older, I'm beginning to realize the moments of downtime are 100% necessary. After a mini break, I feel more refreshed, inspired, and more determined than ever. Shutting down is temporary and necessary in order for the little gray cells to recharge.

Chrissy's Socks was awesome enough to send me a few pairs of their socks to match some of my pajamas. Absolutely nothing beats lying around in sweatpants, leggings, or shorts with knee high socks! I swear, I always wear socks to bed for some reason with shorts. Then I crank the AC on! Chrissy's Socks come in a wide range of styles and patterns but I stuck to my favorite type and had fun with the colors. But with hundreds of styles to chose from, trust me, I'll find one that you like!

Chrissy’s Socks Review

Soooo we have.....

1. Black with hot pink stripes: I absolutely love this color combo! Pink is my favorite color so I try to incorporate it into everything. Yes, even my apartment is filled with pink. My bathroom looks like you're walking into cotton candy.

2. Unicorns: How fun is this?? Unicorns are so amazing and majestic and I want a little bit of it. My nieces go crazy over this pair.

3. Gray and pink argyle: Again, another great classic color combo. My friend's wedding color theme was actually gray and pink argyle!

4. Royal Blue with white polka dots: Who doesn't love dots? Fun but again a classic.

5. Dark Blue and black stripes: These two colors match with everything!

Not only are all of these socks great for lounging around but I'll be wearing them under my Winter/Fall boots during the colder New York City months. Trust me, NYC winters aren't fun and waiting on subway platforms can get super cold super fast. These socks will be put to good use!

Here are some ways I'm trying to mellow out...

1. Lighting a candle and turning the lights low as I watch some TV. Yes, very romantic but sets a calming tone.

2. Turning off my phone. I have to turn off my phone and not just try to ignore it. I'll still see the messages pop up from the corner of my eye. This is a total mental game. Haha. My iPhone is with me everywhere I go but sometimes it becomes an unhealthy relationship. Separation makes the heart grow fonder.

3. Wine. Not sure if this is officially a good one or not but it makes me feel better! Just a small glass of wine as I watch tv. I was going to say drink a green tea which I do every so often but wine is more relaxing to be. (Especially when you add the candles)

4. Setting time aside. I know this may an odd when but I'm the queen of guilt. I'm trying to set two nights a week where I trying shutdown after a long day at the office. Since I won't be doing any work after hours and my workload hasn't changed, when am I going to do it? Instead of writing one sentence for a blog post and then checking Snapchat, I really focus and try not to touch social media until the post is written. I'm also using subway travel time to write instead of checking my gossip apps. I'm using my limited time wisely…

5. Reading! This is my all time favorite way to relax. Nothing beats reading a Mary Higgins Clark book and ignoring the world!

How do you relax?

Purchases so far at Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale

10:50:00 AM

Nordstrom's NSale

It's game time!!!!!! Today I woke up extra early and extra excited! I swear, I placed two orders before I even brushed my teeth! Things sell out very quickly and I knew there were a few items I NEEDED to have. I'll be in stores this weekend but these are some things I found online. I was so ready for this! This morning I focused mainly on work out gear but later today, I'm going to focus on beauty and accessories. While in store over the weekend, I will focus on everyday clothes and shoes. I swear this is like planning for the Super Bowl. You need a plan! lol. This time of year makes me soooo happy! My Mom and I buy 90% of our things at Nordstrom. My Mom always jokes that the only thing we don't buy at Nordstrom is our toilet paper! Hahaha.

The Zella live-in leggings are my absolute favorites. I actually gave away all of my other leggings as soon as I bought these about 6 months ago. I have them in so many colors now. I love them for causal lounging days but I have many pairs for my workouts. I bought black in both long and cropped versions. How can you go wrong with black leggings? Plus they are super flexible and comfortable which is what I need for my Zumba classes.

I also want to start taking Barre classes after reading about it on Southern Curls and Pearls. I purchased this socks Caitlin recommended because I think socks are must for the class. My first class is next week at Equinox so I'll let you know how it goes!!

Will you be shopping the sale? What are you buying?

Irresistible Me Diamond Professional Styling Iron Review

11:21:00 AM

Hello loves!!

Hope we all had a great start to the week. Monday was my 32nd birthday and I am still in celebration mode! hahaha. I guess I have to put my party hat away right? At least I get to talk about one of my favorite things....hair straightening!

I am obsessed with straightening my hair. I have always had extremely curly hair that can be very hard to manage. For the first time ever a few months ago, I did a keratin treatment and for the most part I love it but there are some cons. More about that later. Needless to say, with extremely curly hair and my strong desires to always have straight hair, a flat iron has always been my best friend. A good straightening iron should last you for years and that's even with me using it everyday. Today I will be sharing my thoughts on Irresistible Me's Diamond Professional Styling Iron. I absolutely love this iron and I know you will too!

The first thing I noticed about this iron was the vibrant fun color. Red is such an awesome color and it's easy to see all the way at the bottom of my gym bag or weekender. Also, my second call out was the weight! It's sooo much lighter than other irons I've used. That's important because it can take some people over an hour to straighten your hair and your arm will definitely get tired! Even though it can become a workout, you still don't want to carry a heavier iron with you when you travel. This is super light and yet still amazing quality. I love that kind of combo and it's perfect for me since I am always on the go.

Another plus, this iron is super straightforward (no pun intended!) and easy to read and use. Back in the day, my irons didn't have a temperature reader and most times just had an off/on switch. I had absolutely no idea what temp I was using! Depending on what treatments I have in my hair (like natural or keratin), I need to change the settings or else my hair will burn! This lovely gem has 3 buttons… increase temp, decrease temp, power on/off. I also love how to buttons are inside the iron so I don't accidentally change anything when I am in the middle of straightening. The cord is also long enough that I am not fighting with it as I move around…or reach for my cell phone!

This gem heats up within 15 seconds and has a 30 minute auto shutoff function which is amazing because I am always in a rush and when I am down the street, I always say to myself…"Did I turn off the iron?" Then I am going back home! (Please tell me I'm not alone!)  I love how they thought of safety!

More about the product from their site…
  • The Diamond Professional Flat Iron is our next-generation, digital, SMART styling iron featuring unique DIAMOND Hi-Tech, which coats the floating ceramic plates with crushed diamond particles mixed with tourmaline.
  • The diamond and tourmaline technology will protect your hair and keep all the natural hair oils, color and moisture in, leaving your hair healthy, shiny and frizz free. The styling will last longer against air humidity and everyday stress.
  • The 1'' floating plate self-adjusts, eliminating any pressure points, so that the iron can work through your hair smoothly without pulling

Here's my hair totally natural and yes I know I need a color job…

Here it is straight….

I really love this iron and my hair comes out perfect every time. I just use this before I apply any heat, and use this and this afterwards.

How do you straighten your hair? Have you tried Irresistible Me's iron?

St. Ives Apricot Scrub {Blemish Control} Review

10:35:00 PM

St. Ives Apricot Scrub {Blemish Control} Review

So I am a little pissed now....I'm 32 and still suffering from acne! Like wtf? I shouldn't have to deal with this past the age of 16! I'm twice that age now and my acne still comes in waves. I must say that for the most part, my acne has been behaving 80% of the time but it's so important for me to stay on top of it. Like I can't go one night without doing my full skincare routine. I 100% can't sleep with any kind of makeup on or go a week without cleaning my brushes. I have to stay on top of everything...if not, then hello blemishes!

I can totally write up a post about my full skincare routine but it'll be a very long one. Please let me know if you wanna know all the details. But I thought I would share my thoughts of a new beauty goodie. Well this isn't exactly totally new because I remember my Mom using this when I was a little girl. She used to love this scrub and I remember always seeing it in the bathroom cabinet. It's true that mothers know best and my Mom knew what she was doing with her skin all those years ago.

During a recent Target run, I was browsing through the beauty aisles when my eyes landed on this gem...St. Ives Apricot Scrub- Blemish Control. I believe it's the same as the original formula but this includes oil-free salicylic acne medications. It's 100% sulfrate and paraben free and made from natural exfoliants. It promises to prevent blemishes and minimizes pores. According to the package, you're supposed to use this one to three times daily. I personally use it only at time but you can totally use it when you wake up as well. I don't think I can ever use this 3x daily considering I never leave home without makeup so I definitely won't be rinsing my face midday! Hahaha. It does say that drying may occur so you can gradually increase or decrease the amount of times you apply this daily. For my skin type which is combo to dry, I would recommend only use this once a day. Honestly, I was shocked that this product can be used daily. I know you are usually told to use a scrub only 2 to 3x weekly.

St. Ives Apricot Scrub {Blemish Control} Review

I absolutely love the little micro-beads because they are very gentle on the skin but they really scrub and remove all the dirt and germs from your face. After I apply, my skin feels like a baby's behind and I have not one trace of dead skin. I truly feel like it's helping my acne as well as making my skin look younger! It also smells great and gets the job done really well. I am obsessed with scrubs and this is feeding into my habit!

After I use this, I make sure to moisturize and complete all the steps in my skincare routine. (Cleanser, toner, eye makeup remover, serum, moisturizer, eye cream, and setting mist.)

I paid $3.69 for this baby and it's worth so much more than that! It's truly a steal. I much prefer this to any department store find. During the hot summer months, I definitely don't want my pores to clog with all the sweat and makeup! It's also very important for me to scrub down my face after a workout. I want my face to be a pimple free zone!

Have you tried St. Ives Apricot Scrub? What do you think?

Ringing in 32...

1:58:00 PM

Giftssss. I love anything from Louis Vuitton

Happy Monday darlings!! Hope you all had fab weekends!! Today is my 32nd birthday!! I'm soooo blessed and fortunate to be ringing in another new year!

My day started off with a Zumba class, then breakfast, then mani/pedi, and lastly dinner with the family. It's nice and relaxed and exactly how I like spending my birthday! My parents bought me a new LV wallet which I loveeee!

with my Zumba teacher. I'm the taller one :)

Since I'm another year older, I've been reflecting on my life and what I want to improve. You've read about some of these before but why not hear it again?

Weight Loss: I'm down 5.6 pounds in three weeks and I want to keep it up. I have more energy than ever and it makes me sooo happy. I have 10 more pounds to go!

Wearing Blanc by Essie. One of my fave colors

Exercise: I'm working out more than ever before. I used to work out 6 days a week back in the day and now I'm up to 4 days per week. By the end of the summer, I'm hoping to be back up to 6. Between eating right and exercise, I've truly never felt better.

Relationships: something happens as you get older and move away from home. I still talk to my friends but not as much as I would like. Well I'm changing that. Making time for friends and family is sooo important. They are everything!! Life is too short. Make time for the people you care about.

Blogging: I absolutely love this little blog of mine and I want to start blogging 5x per week instead of my 3x. I want to start working with brands and collaborating with others. Just like I have time for bravo tv...I can make more time for this little growing baby of mine.

Thank you all for all the love and support. I truly appreciate it and I'm so blessed and grateful. Here's to 32! Let's do it!!

Best Fitness Trends to Look Out For This Summer

9:24:00 AM

Happy Saturday darlings! Hope you all have fab weekend plans! If you follow me on Instagram, you can tell that I am on a total health kick lately. I have 10 more pounds to lose and I am totally going to continue with living healthier. I have more energy now than ever! I have a lovely guest post to share with you all. Here we go!

This summer, fitness wear is not reserved for the gym only. Actually, the trend of colorful, bright, flowery fitness clothes that can be worn as a cool street wear has been on the rise since last couple of years. But, as evident from the fitness stores, this year it’s reached its full potential. With just a few additional details and personal touches, this kind of look is perfect for any sports and fitness lover who enjoys the exercise as well as a fashionable look on the streets.

Sports Bra

Sports bras are slowly replacing regular bras in everyday outfits. Apart from the world of difference when comfort is concerned in favor of a sports bra, these little life savers are everything but boring this summer. Their design and material make a perfect support for any chest size, they make the breasts look flattering under the top.

The vast choice of colors and patterns add additional texture and touch to the whole outfit, especially with razor cut back and straps that can be seen. Unlike regular bras, this glimpse of a sports bra doesn’t have any inappropriate vibe.

Comfy Bottoms

A while ago, wearing yoga pants outside of the gym was considered a poor taste but with today’s technology, yoga pants replace the regular bottoms perfectly. They are made of sturdier material that keeps everything in place and thanks to the burst of colors and patterns, they make a sassy part of the outfit without any see-through consequences. Moreover, jogger and track pants have become a true icon of street style and provide comfortable and casual look for both sporty ladies and gents.

Stylish Tops

When it comes to fitness tops, tanks and tees for the summer follow the tight trend and wrap the upper part of the body nicely yet they allow the skin to breathe thanks to the special fitness material they’re made of. What’s more, their design is getting more elaborate and it can get pretty difficult to choose your favorite color or pattern combination when shopping.

Crop tops were very big in recent years but they too have found their place in fitness wear. Also, polo shirts are a great addition to summer fitness wardrobe regardless of whether you’re going to the gym or for a run, or pairing them with comfy bottoms for a sporty elegance look. Most men won’t be seen in a tight top that is great for the gym, but polo shirts have become really trendy among male population.

The Lightness of Foot

The new rule of fitness wear in the streets might be most apparent in the burst of different sports footwear. This summer, fitness shoes can be paired with any outfit and everyone can definitely find their perfect style and color. Many brands such as Ryderwear, have come up with new designs this year, and thanks to the special attention to detail and great comfort of fitness shoes, they’ve become a staple in any wardrobe.

While men’s compression tops and bottoms haven’t made it that big in the streets, both sexes enjoy this new footwear trend.

Dandy Accessories

A great deal of detail is also put in makings and use of sports accessories. Arm warmers are basically new statement accessory, while wearing jazzed up headphones decorates the neck and ears. Fitness socks of all colors and patterns are another go-to choice for both men and women since they provide additional comfort, look really interesting as they peek out from the shoe and keep the feet from sweating and overheating. What’s more, stylish gym bags aren’t just for storing gym necessities anymore. Their sturdy, high quality material, modern design and most importantly, unique patterns, colors and style, make them a great addition for a complete and unified street fitness outfit.

The time when one had to choose between comfort and great street look is gone with this summer’s trend of stylish and fashionable fitness wear. With its great popularity, people get encouraged to work out and lead a healthy lifestyle even more, which is undoubtedly one of many great benefits of this look.

Beauty Goodies Used Up in June

Beauty Goodies Used Up in June

Oh dear! I can't believe the year is half over! Absolutely nuts! Well it's that time again...beauty goodies I've used up in June! Woooohooo! I always get excited when I use up beauty products because I'm so bad at committing to anything until the end. I'm making an effort though and it's working! (Budget!) So here we go...

1. Supersmile: you guys have seen this a few times before. It's my favorite mouthwash and I have the toothpaste set as well. I use the mouthwash a lot more because I rinse after I eat, drink coffee, and workout. I like having clean breath so I'm obsessed with this. I originally ordered it via QVC and I get it delivered every 90 days. The mouthwash just requires a 30 seconds rinse and you're good. If you team it up with the toothpaste, you really will have a whiter teeth after 2 1/2 mins. Read my full review here

2. Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair: just in case you haven't noticed, I absolutely love Estée Lauder as a brand and I use sooo many of their products. During Lord &Taylor's friends and family last month, I got so many free goodies. Even though this was a sample...I had 5 of them so I consider it to add up to a full size bottle. I will 100% be purchasing the full sized bottle of this. My skin is so clear and so much smoother. It really does make a difference. A little bit does go a long way and you won't be disappointed. My skin has never looked better.

3. Drybar's Hot Toddy: I love all of Drybar's products. They smell amazing. I would buy it based on smell alone. This product is used before you apply heat to your hair. It provides moisturized and protection for blow dryers and flat irons. It's wonderful and I have two more full sized bottles at home. The one shown is my travel sized version that I leave at the office and bring with me to the gym. If you straighten your hair at all, this is a must have product.

4. Estée Lauder's Take It Away Makeup Remover: This product is perfect for those with dry or sensitive skin. I personally use this first when removing my makeup at night. I apply it all over my face and then I take one of my Avon wipes to swipe it away. It really gets my makeup off. Then I use my Estée Lauder cleanser but that's a story for another day. Using a lotion to remove my makeup reminds me of my grandmother's era. I love it and things from the past still work today.

5. Bare Minerals Purifying Cleanser: I used this cleanser to clean my makeup brushes and not for my face. I originally purchased it as a facial cleanser but since it doesn't lather us, I didn't like how it felt on my skin. I hate wasting money and I didn't want to throw it away so..voila! It became a brush cleaner! I cleaned my brushes with this and my Sigma Glove and the combo was just magical. PS- this item is no longer available so I won't be repurchasing!

6. Bare Minerals Bare Skin Concealer: not one of my fave concealers but I would purchase it again if it were on sale or part of a set. I'll use it mostly for highlighting purposes. See my full review here

7. Wet and Wild Mega Clear Mascara: I used this for my eyebrows and it's super cheap ($1.99!!) and gets the job done. My eyebrows don't move for the entire day. The only downside? My foundation and eyeshadow combo gets into the tube causing it to no longer be clear. It looks kinda gross. I'm on the fence about buying Benefit's Gimme Brow so I won't have to see the mascara change colors but then again...I'm on a budget and I rather use my money on something else.

8. Estée Lauder's Nightwear Plus 3 Minute Detox Mask: I loveeee this!!! I purchased the full sized version and I will be writing a full review soon. I use it 3x per week and it's super fast (only takes 3 mins) and it makes my skin tight and smooth. It's perfect.

9. Lancôme Absolue Eye Premium: I got this for free with a purchase and it's ok. It keeps my under eye area hydrated and I don't have any bags or dark circle. I'm just a little on the fence about the texture. I think I'm going to purchase the full sized version of Estée Lauder's Advanced Repair Eye Cream. I love the whole line and the texture of the eye cream feels better to me.

10. Estée Lauder's Revitalizing Supreme: I'm so in love with this moisturizer. I use it every night after using the Advanced Night Repair and the combo is just fabulous. My skin has never been this hydrated. It's almost at time too hydrated. lol. I stopped by Ulta last weekend because my skin is actually getting a little oily. I asked the saleslady if I am using the wrong products and she said that it means I am doing a great job with my skin. She said when skin is hydrated and well moisturized, your skin can get a bit oily but it'll keep the wrinkles away. So I'm not sure if what she said is 100% correct but I'll take it. You can actually use this goodie in both the am and pm. It'll help keep the wrinkles away and it smells great! According to the website, it's for "Anyone who wants to dramatically reduce signs of aging, including lines, wrinkles, loss of firmness, dullness and dehydration." Yesssssss!! Me! Me!

11. Tarte's Amazonian Clay Blush: I love this blush and I'm giving myself a break for awhile because I'm tired of using this brand! This is just the sample size and I used it everyday from late November to late June! It was $10 well spent. (Thank you Sephora Black Friday Sale) It's so pigmented and lasts forever. After my mini break, I'll definitely purchase a full sized version in a different shade because it really is worth the money. Please read my full review here

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-In-Stick Lipstick Review

Hi darlings! Hope all of my American readers had an amazing 4th of July. I certainly did! Fireworks are my favorite and this year's show was unbelievably beautiful. I was not disappointed!

On to beauty news....I cannot get enough of Yves Saint Laurent's Rouge Colupte Shine Oil-In-Stick Lipstick in Fuchsia Stiletto #50. Truly, it's one of my favorite all time lipsticks and I just want to wear it ALL THE TIME. Yes, it's that amazing. Usually I pretty much suck when it comes to lipsticks. I either forget it all together or I reach for the easier solution...my chapstick. So here's the backstory and it's all my Mom's fault. *wink wink*

Last week, my Mom needed to stop by Sephora so she could pick up a new blush and she asked me to come with her. I think you already know that this is a no-no. lol. I will never enter Sephora without coming out with a few things. So I am really proud of myself for only leaving with two things!

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-In-Stick Lipstick Review

I have been absolutely dying to purchase a Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-In-Stick Lipstick for over six months now. Every time I browse the YSL section, I always talk myself out of it because the $37 price tag is a difficult one to swallow. But since I have been doing so well with Weight Watchers and my spending habits, I decided to treat myself. My Mom wanted me to go for the shade Nude in Private because it's a warm beige color and you can use it everyday. (There are 30 shades so you are bound to fall in love with at least 2!) I am going to buy that shade eventually but as soon as I saw the vibrant shade of Fuchsia Stiletto, I know that I have fallen deeply in love. It's a very strong, bright, and vibrant pink shade and it's perfect for summer. It's very shiny and goes on your lips like butter. It's really very smooth and moisturizing. The pink shade is such a fun color and so far I have been getting a lot of compliments. Even if you're not into the color I chose, truly this lipstick is uber lux and amazing quality. Let's chat more about it.

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-In-Stick Lipstick Review

This lipstick is oil-infused and is actually made with 65% oil. You can totally tell by the first application because it's really so smooth and slick. The oils help with hydrating your lips and too keep them nice and smooth! According to the Sephora website, "this lipstick also has antioxidants in natural extracts of pomegranate and rosemary reduce the look of fine lines, while candellila resin forms a thin, protective layer to help lock in moisture and magnify color and shine. Mineral pigments provide bright, vibrant color and a melting formula (instead of a solid stick) enabling smoother glide-on application and an ultrafine lightweight film on lips. Hyaluronic acid spheres hydrate and soften lips to help seal in moisture for up to eight hours of hydration." Also, my fave bitit smells like mangoes! As soon as you open the tube to apply, you just want to eat it!

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-In-Stick Lipstick Review & Swatch

Tip: I actually don't use lip liner but I do use Bite's Line & Define Lip Primer. It's almost like double stick tape for your lips!! You apply to your lips first and then apply your lipstick. Your lipstick don't transfer onto your teeth! I love bold lipstick shades but they should stay put and not travel! This lip primer is light weight, makes your lips smoother, and is hydrating. It's also parabens, sulfates, and phthalates free. Between the lipstick and primer, your lip color won't be going anywhere for hours!

What's your favorite lipstick?
